"I recently had an operation which made it difficult to speak and took the down-time to shop for better priced car insurance. I filled out the state farm online quote tool. I received a text message from someone at this office, and I responded: "Please email me the quote." Then I received a phone call from someone at this office to "make sure that I understand my coverage options." I very clearly explained why having multiple contacts and a phone call with someone just to get a quote is MUCH worse than simply having an online tool, but the agent smugly infantilized me by telling me it is for my own good, inferring that I'm not capable of understanding my options. I have specific coverage requirements due to an umbrella policy with a different insurer, so it is a matter of fact that I do know what I need better than some random person from a state farm office. After hanging up, they did send a quote, but it was significantly more expensive than all of the other insurance companies I received regular old online quotes from. I would not work with this office because the pricing is inferior AND because if you ever have a claim, maybe it will take you multiple interactions to get anything done. If they can't provide a quote easily, what makes you think they would do anything efficiently? Just my opinion..."
